About First Day Jitters

It’s the first day of school and Sarah Jane Hartwell doesn’t want to go. She refuses to get out of bed, her stomach hurts, and her hands are cold and clammy.  Even meeting the principal doesn’t make her feel better.  Young readers will sympathize as they follow Sarah Jane’s reluctant journey to her new classroom

“Danneberg puts a fresh twist on an annual crisis suffered by millions: the arrival of that dread day in September when school starts.”
-Kirkus Reviews

“Lively line and watercolor illustrations bring Sarah’s plight to life.”

“First days are scary for everybody…even teachers!”
-From School Library Journal
